Starting this week at the 3M Open, fans will be able to watch full-player-round recaps in a bite-sized format, thanks to a new series called Rapid Rounds. So yes, you’ll be able to relive every single shot from the likes of Rory, Scottie, Rickie, or whoever tops your leaderboard without needing to fire up the DVR.
“Whether reliving an incredible round, catching up on the game’s biggest names, or if they missed that day’s action, Rapid Rounds offers a fast, easy way for fans to engage,” said Norb Gambuzza, the PGA Tour’s Executive VP of Media. And he’s not kidding — these clips will live across CBS Sports, ESPN, Golf Channel, and eventually NBC Sports during the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
Fan-Driven, Player-Backed
The idea isn’t just some executive pipedream — it came directly from the fans. The Fan Forward initiative polled over 50,000 fans, and the loudest request? More highlights. More round recaps. Less waiting.
The PGA Tour listened — and brought players into the process. Justin Thomas, who’s served on the Tour’s Player Advisory Council, called it a “passion project,” adding, “It’s incredibly rewarding to see Rapid Rounds come to life.”
The Tour is trying to do what every sports league should be doing in 2025. They want to meet fans where they are, when they want, and in a way that actually respects their time. And the best part? It’s not just for one-off moments or final-hole drama — these are complete shot-by-shot rundowns.
