LIV Golf confirmed the renewal of its broadcast partnership with SuperSport, guaranteeing live coverage of all 14 LIV Golf League events across Africa for the 2026 season. The agreement reinforces SuperSport’s role as the League’s primary broadcast home on the continent and aligns with LIV Golf’s broader ambition to establish a durable presence in key international markets. With events scheduled across 10 countries and five continents, the partnership ensures African audiences will have uninterrupted access to tournaments in Adelaide, Hong Kong, Singapore, Mexico, the United States, the United Kingdom, and additional global destinations, all delivered through SuperSport’s established production and distribution infrastructure.

South Africa Takes Center Stage with a Historic First Event

At the heart of the announcement is LIV Golf South Africa, scheduled for 19–22 March 2026 at The Club at Steyn City in Johannesburg. This tournament represents a defining milestone for the League and for South African golf, marking the first time LIV Golf competition will be staged in the country. Early ticket sales have positioned the event as one of the fastest-selling stops on the 2026 calendar, highlighting strong local demand and the resonance of LIV Golf’s arrival. The event also carries symbolic weight for the Southern Guards GC, the League’s all–South African team captained by major champion Louis Oosthuizen and featuring Branden Grace, Dean Burmester, and Open Champion Charl Schwartzel, whose collective achievements have elevated national interest in the competition.

From Storytelling to Live Action, SuperSport Expands the LIV Golf Experience

The renewed agreement builds on momentum generated by Greens & Gold, SuperSport’s five-part docuseries chronicling the Southern Guards’ journey on and off the course. The series provided fans with behind-the-scenes access to team culture and competitive preparation, strengthening the connection between LIV Golf and African audiences. Looking ahead, viewers across Sub-Saharan Africa will be able to consistently follow a premier global field that includes Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm, Joaquin Niemann, Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Sergio Garcia, and Tyrrell Hatton.

LIV Golf’s competition format, contested over four rounds and 72 holes with its signature shotgun start, remains central to its broadcast identity. Combined with an accelerated, action-dense production style that emphasizes both individual and team narratives within a four-to-five-hour window, the League continues to differentiate itself from traditional golf coverage. As the 2026 season approaches, the SuperSport partnership positions LIV Golf South Africa not only as a historic debut but as a catalyst for the sport’s continued growth across the continent.
