The world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler rolled into Ohio and dominated. With a 10-under-par finish at Muirfield Village, Scheffler defended his Memorial Tournament title with authority, making it his 16th career PGA Tour win and another powerful statement in what’s shaping up to be a historic season.

Unstoppable Run Continues

Coming off a win at the 2025 PGA Championship, Scheffler brought his trademark composure and precision to Jack Nicklaus’ home. His opening rounds of 70-70 kept him in striking distance, but it was a third-round 66 that closed the gap. From there, it was all but over. He closed strong, finishing four strokes clear of the field and never giving up the lead down the stretch.

Across four rounds, Scheffler carded 16 birdies, offset by just one double bogey and four bogeys — only one of which came after Friday. It’s a masterclass in consistency, and another example of how quickly he recovers when things go sideways.

With this win, Scheffler joins one of the most exclusive clubs in golf: back-to-back Memorial champions. Before Sunday, the only man who had ever pulled that off was Tiger Woods. Now? It’s Tiger and Scottie.

Scheffler has also now defended three PGA Tour titles in his career, joining the ranks of Phil Mickelson and Woods in rare company. According to golf analyst Justin Ray, only those two legends have more title defenses than Scheffler.

It’s not just the hardware that’s piling up — it’s the respect. Fellow pro Jordan Spieth didn’t hold back, calling Scheffler “elite” and praising his unmatched clubface control. “It’s maybe the best there’s ever been,” Spieth said.

The numbers back it up. The momentum speaks volumes. And the wins? They just keep coming.
